Satsuki was born to parents Ragyo Kiryuin and Soichiro Kiryuin. At the age of one, she was experimented on to insert Life Fibers into her nervous system. When the attempt failed, another child was experimented on almost directly after birth, but she was also considered a failure and was purged as a result, leaving Satsuki with the traumatic experience of seeing the 'death' of her nameless younger sister. She grew with her parents and was spoiled rich, but became a strong, independent young woman in spite of that, creating, at only the age of thirteen, a small group in whom she would put her trust and give authority to after the upbuilding of her fortress, Honnouji Academy.
At Honnouji Academy, students were separated into four groups: three-star, two-star, one-star, and no-star. The highest rank ( three star ) would live in the highest class of all who lived in the area, and as the ranks lowered, the worth of their belongings would lower as well. No-stars were sanctioned to slums along with their families.
After the building of the academy, she became the Student Council President; the top dog. Under her were the Elite Four, Ira Gamagōri, Nonon Jakuzure, Hōka Inumuta, and Uzu Sanegeyama.

This verse takes place after the fall of Ragyō Kiryūin, Satsuki's deranged mother who sought to obtain sovereignty over the Earth by enslaving humanity through the manufacturing and selling of clothes containing Life Fibers. Satsuki never found the knife and therefore never cut her hair. Satsuki has PTSD from seeing her death of her mother as well as being physically and sexually abused by her.
